Patricia Neitman is the Director for the Bureau of Childrens Coordinated Health, Policy, and Supports (BCCHPS) at MDHHS. Patricia has been with MDHHS for 23 years, during that time has work in leadership positions as the director of the Division of Child Welfare Licensing and in oversight of the Adoption and Guardianship Assistance Office, and most recently as the Division Director in the Office of the Advocate for Children, Youth, and Families in BCCHPS. Patricia worked for several years in the private sector in child welfare, and as a clinician and clinical manager. Patricia has also served as an adjunct instructor at Oakland Community College; has a master’s degree in clinical behavioral psychology from Eastern Michigan University, and a limited license as a psychologist.
Patricia will give an Overview of the work in the Bureau of Children’s Coordinated Health, Policy, and Supports at the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. The presentation will highlight work activities and initiatives in the bureau, including the MichiCANS tool, and the development of a data dashboard.

Emily Henderson is a government affairs consultant at McCall Hamilton, Lansing’s only all-female lobbying firm. Following graduation from Michigan State University’s James Madison College, Emily joined the team and began working closely on state legislative and regulatory health and human services issues as well as grassroots and coalition advocacy.
Emily discusses Michigan’s new political landscape and provide an advocacy update on all of the items the Arc Michigan is following in Lansing. Emily will also share what it means to be an effective advocate and how to connect with your legislators.
